KILN DRIED VS SEASONED FIREWOOD
Both types of fuel are great for fireplaces, firewood burning stoves and other solid-fuel heating systems
Kiln-Dried firewood is the best firewood product available. We recommend this product not only to inexperienced firewood burners, but also for anybody expecting extremely easy to light, hassle-free firewood experiences.
Kiln-Dried firewood lights easier, burns hotter, and produces virtually zero smoke. Kiln-Dried wood burns so efficiently because the flame does not waste any energy boiling water out of the log, so hardly any ash or soot is left after the fire is done, leaving no messy fireplace.
What makes Kiln-Dried Firewood different is that the wood cooks in the kiln for over 24 hours, with chamber temperatures staying steady at 250 degrees. This kills all bugs and mold, and brings moisture content consistently to the 8-12% range. Regular seasoned firewood can be anywhere from 12-25%. This moisture content difference is what makes our Kiln-Dried Firewood the best.
we are currently delivering Kiln dried and nice dry hardwood that has been seasoned for over 1 year and has been stored under roof since last August/September. Our indoor storage facility has slatted floors and wide open sides, so it allows for great airflow AND – it has a roof over it all!
The wood is tested with moisture meters to ensure the optimal moisture level before selling. We pride ourselves in premium quality, perfect moisture levels and hand stacked volume to ensure the quantity is accurate of every order.

Quick Facts About Firewood:
- In general, seasoned wood has a moisture content of 20% or less. The term “seasoned” is solely referring to whether or not the wood has an acceptable moisture content for burning. In most cases, it takes freshly cut “green” wood 90 days to dry out to the point where it can be considered seasoned. Our wood has typically been in split firewood form for 9-12 months.
- A cord is 128 cubic feet of tightly STACKED firewood. That typically means stacked 8 feet wide, 4 feet deep, and 4 feet tall.
- Kiln-Dried wood is always going to be the best firewood experience, however, due to the cost to run the kiln and the labor that goes into loading and unloading it, kiln-dried wood will always be more expensive.
- In the mix of our hardwoods you will find cherry, hickory, maple, red oak, white oak, poplar, locust, and ash.
What sets us apart:
- We have 3 high-production kilns, allowing us to produce up to 36 cords of kiln-dried wood daily.
- We process wood at a computer-controlled, fully electric outdoor factory. This system allows us to completely control custom lengths and diameters of cut-and-split firewood. From 2″ chunks, to 20″ logs, pizza-cut, or normal firewood, we can handle just about any custom order you may have.
- Our wood is the cleanest possible product, because the wood never leaves pavement at any of our processing facilities, and because we tumble our firewood immediately before it is sold. This removes all loose bark, dirt, dust, and scraps before the product is delivered.
- We always have dry wood in stock because we manufacture firewood year-round.
- We sell exact quantities of wood to our customers, always in relation to the standard measurement of firewood, which is a cord.
- Our selection of products is more extensive than any other supplier.
- Our quick delivery service can fulfill your order almost always the next day.
